Putting Your Sponsorship Dollars to Work in Sarasota
GIVING HUNGER THE BLUES - GENEROSO FOUNDATION (a 501 C (3) non-profit organization)
Our mission is to feed, nurture and protect the children of Sarasota County. Our goal is to raise funds for our charity partners to help them facilitate the programs that support that mission.
MAYORS FEED THE HUNGRY PROGRAM (a 501 C (3) non-profit organization)
A contribution to this all-volunteer program means your money goes to feed the hungry! The only administrative expenses are for the production of printed materials and mailing costs. All money collected stays in our communities and is used for food vouchers that are distributed throughout the year by local churches, civic groups and social services agencies.
Last year Mayors Feed the Hungry Program provided over 14,000 meals – over 35% went to children, over 16% went to the handicapped and over 15% went to the elderly – however more than 40,000 requests were left unfilled!
We already know the need this year will be even greater because of current economic conditions. Your sponsorship to Giving Hunger the Blues, combined with other contributions, will help feed the hungry in our community!
THE WOMEN’S RESOURCE CENTER OF SARASOTA COUNTY (a 501 C (3) non-profit organization)
The Women’s Resource Center of Sarasota County (WRCSC) was founded In 1979 with the help of American Association of University Women and 18 other women’s organizations. Through classes, one-to-one counseling, and focused employability training, the WRCSC improves the lives of thousands of women each year.
We focus on creating personal, social, and professional growth opportunities for all women, providing women with strategies for living that strengthen themselves, their families and their communities.
We work to create a positive impact on the community by being a strategic partner in strengthening the quality of womens’ lives. We teach life management skills and help implement solutions that address the changing issues facing women in every stage of their lives. As a result, we are able to enhance the economic vitality of our community.
