Giving Hunger The Blues is an annual, one-day, musical festival located at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center in Sarasota, Florida. The family-friendly event features three stages of live music, including the popular youth stage and dozens of food and beverage vendors. Live music performances are the main attraction, however. Each year, the festival brings phenomenal music to a happy crowd. American Idol’s Syesha Mercado, The Allman Brothers Band’s Dan Toler and AC/DC’s Brian Johnson have each performed at Giving Hunger The Blues.

Giving Hunger The Blues is a family-friendly event that features musical concerts, and for young, younger and young-at-heart attendees, there are carnival games and play areas.
Make sure you come with an appetite! There are at least fifteen food and craft vendors who are offering a broad variety of food and drink options.
WHERE – Van Wezel Performing Arts Center
WHEN – Sunday, October 30th, 2016 – 12 Noon to 9 PM (rain or shine). Doors open at 11:30am.
PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT – Mayors Feed the Hungry Program and The Women’s Resource Center of Sarasota County
ADMISSION is a $10 donation in advance, $15 at the door – you will receive a wristband in exchange for your purchase.
Children 12 and under are free.
FOOD, BEVERAGE AND GAMES – There are numerous food, beverage and entertainment options at the event. Items are in the $1 – $8 range.
PARKING – There is plenty of free parking available at the Van Wezel.
COOLERS ARE NOT PERMITTED
FEEL FREE TO BRING LAWN CHAIRS OR FOLDING CHAIRS
LOST PROPERTY – If you find lost property please take it to an entrance booth
SECURITY – Giving Hunger The Blues will be providing security including volunteers, licensed guards and members of the Police Service.
T-SHIRTS – 2016 Giving Hunger The Blues will be available for purchase during the event
FENCE – Jumping of any fence at Giving Hunger The Blues will result in removal of your wristband & expulsion from the grounds.
